Chapter-2

Seoul, South Korea.....

A tense silence hangs in the air of the meeting room. Men in suits shift uncomfortably in their seats, beads of sweat forming at their temples. No one dares to speak loudly; only hushed whispers pass between them.

And why wouldn’t they be nervous? Today, he is coming. The Boss. The Devil himself.

The whispers die abruptly as the heavy double doors creak open. A broad-shouldered bodyguard steps in first, his cold gaze sweeping the room like a warning. Then, he pushes the doors wider.

Footsteps echo against the marble floor. They are measured, calm, yet commanding enough to make every heartbeat quicken.

Kim Taehyung walks in with the kind of authority that makes the air feel heavier. His sharp suit fits him perfectly, his expression unreadable yet terrifyingly powerful.

Instantly, every single person rises from their chair, bending forward at a perfect ninety-degree bow, heads lowered in absolute submission.

Taehyung doesn’t spare them a glance. Without a word, he strides to the head of the table and lowers himself into the leather chair, his movements smooth, deliberate, unnervingly calm. The silence is deafening. No one even dares to breathe too loud.

He raises a single finger. That’s all it takes.

One of the men steps forward, bowing so low his forehead nearly touches the polished floor. His voice trembles as he forces out, “L-L-Lord—”

BANG!

The deafening gunshot shatters the silence.

The man collapses instantly, his lifeless body hitting the ground with a sickening thud. Blood pools beneath him, the metallic scent filling the room. No one screams. No one moves. Only the sound of heavy breathing echoes in the tense air as every man present struggles to keep his composure.

Taehyung lowers his gun lazily, expression cold, as if nothing happened. His deep voice cuts through the silence, smooth yet dripping with menace.

“As much as I enjoy watching you tremble,” he begins, his tone slow and deliberate, “if you waste my time with pathetic stuttering…”

His gaze flickers to the corpse at his feet. “…you’ll end up just like him.”

The way he says it... so casually, almost bored makes it even more terrifying.

His guards, without needing a single word, drag the lifeless body out of the room, leaving a faint trail of blood behind. The heavy door shuts, sealing the silence once again. The air is thick and no one dares to blink until Taehyung lifts his hand, signaling for the meeting to resume.

Another man rises slowly, spine rigid, forcing himself to breathe evenly. He bows low, voice controlled yet tight with fear.

“Lord… we’ve successfully prepared the new formula of drugs you ordered.”

He steps forward with a small packet, hands trembling slightly as he places it on the polished table. Taehyung picks it up, inspects the white powder briefly between his fingers, and gives a single nod. The room exhales silently in relief.

But then the man hesitates just for a moment. “But… Lord, there is a problem.”

The shift in Taehyung’s gaze is immediate...sharp, cold, dangerous.

“What problem?” His voice is calm, but the edge in it could slice steel.

The man gulps, throat bobbing. “The drugs… they’re potent. Too potent. We’re struggling to find a secure base to manufacture and distribute them. We can’t risk exposure.”

Taehyung leans back in his chair, long fingers tapping lazily on the armrest as he processes. The room feels suffocating.

The man forces himself to continue. “Lord… I may have a solution. There’s one country which is perfect for production, perfect for market expansion.”

Taehyung tilts his head slightly, signaling him to go on.

India,” the man says finally, voice steady despite his pounding heart.

Silence. Then, slowly, Taehyung’s lips curl into a dangerous smirk...one that promises chaos.

“Very well,” he murmurs, rising from his chair with predatory grace. “Take the shipment there. I’ll go myself.”

He pauses at the doorway, glancing back over his shoulder, eyes glinting with something unreadable. “Contact every major dealer in India. Tell them the devil is coming.”

As he strides down the dim hallway, his footsteps echo against the marble floor. A strange feeling claws at his chest not dread, not fear, but something he hasn’t felt in years.

This trip to India… it won’t just be business. It will change everything.

Mumbai, India....

The private airport in India is locked down with armed men stand in perfect formation, their weapons glinting under the harsh floodlights. The air hums with tension; not a single civilian is allowed within miles. Every corner, every rooftop is guarded.

At the center of the runway stands a man in his late thirties, sharp-eyed and dressed in an immaculate suit. His name is Vikram Singh, the undisputed head of India’s drug empire. Flanked by his most trusted men, he waits in silence, the faint hum of anticipation coiling in the air.

Then, a deafening roar cuts through the night sky. Engines scream overhead.

Every head tilts upward.

Breaking through the clouds, an obsidian-black private jet descends with predatory grace, its metallic body glistening like a shadowed blade under the runway lights.

Kim Taehyung has arrived.

The jet screeches to a halt on the runway. Hydraulic hisses echo as the stairs unfold smoothly, and the aircraft’s door swings open.

One by one, heavily armed men descend first, forming two perfect lines on either side of the stairway. Without a word, they drop to one knee, heads bowed, creating an aisle fit for a king.

Then he appears.

Kim Taehyung steps out of the jet with unhurried grace, hands tucked casually in the pockets of his black coat. The night wind toys with his hair as his sharp eyes scan the crowd below, a predator descending into foreign land, yet utterly untouchable.

Vikram Singh, the towering figure of India’s drug empire, feels his throat dry. His pulse spikes as Taehyung approaches. Forcing a strained smile, Vikram joins his hands in a respectful 'Namaste' before extending one hand for a handshake.

Taehyung doesn’t take it. He simply stops in front of him, gaze unreadable, posture relaxed yet suffocating.

The silence alone feels like a blade pressed to Vikram’s throat.

Swallowing the insult, Vikram lowers his hand, forcing a respectful tone.
“Lord… it’s my honor to assist you in business, to be your partner—”

A low chuckle escapes Taehyung, cold and humorless. His words cut like glass.

“Partner?” He tilts his head slightly, voice laced with mockery. “What makes you think I came here for help? I’m not asking. I’m giving you a chance to work under me.”

The air stills. The weight of his authority leaves no room for defiance.

Vikram clenches his fists at his sides, closing his eyes briefly to hide the flare of anger burning within him. But he values his life too much to respond. He bows instead.

“Yes, Lord… I will remember that.” He forces the words through gritted teeth. “Please, come with me.”

Without another glance, Taehyung strides forward. A sleek black car awaits, its door already held open by another guard. Vikram follows closely behind as the convoy moves toward the city straight to Vikram’s headquarters.

"Breaking News!"
“The Crime Lord Kim Taehyung has just landed in India. His purpose of visit remains undisclosed, but sources confirm heavy security surrounding him. Stay tuned for exclusive updates!”

The reporter’s voice booms from the television, echoing through the cozy living room.

On the couch, Yn’s father sits with his arms crossed, face serious as he watches the news anchor speak with trembling lips. Yn’s mother stands nearby at the kitchen counter, rhythmically chopping vegetables while sneaking anxious glances at the TV.

And then… there’s Yn.

Completely oblivious to the brewing tension, she’s curled up on the sofa, face glued to her phone, muttering curses under her breath.

“Ugh—stupid candy bomb! Almost won this level!”

Her mother clicks her tongue in annoyance and finally snaps, narrowing her eyes at her daughter.

Yn’s mother, “Aye, girl! Can you stop romancing that mobile for a second? At least watch the news! The Crime Lord Kim Taehyung is in India!”

Yn lazily glances up, clearly uninterested. “So?” she drawls. “You want me to go welcome him with flowers at the airport or something?”

A carrot flies at her face.

Yn catches it midair with practiced ease, pops it into her mouth, and chews happily. “Thanks, Maa,” she mumbles through a mouthful.

Her mother glares at her.
“Do you even realize what this means? Why would he come here?”

Yn shrugs, going back to her phone. “Maa, he’s not just some mafia guy. He’s a CEO too, remember? Probably here for a boring business meeting or something.”

Her father hums thoughtfully from the couch. “She might be right. These news channels only add spice to everything to boost their TRP. Don’t stress over it.”

Her mother huffs but says nothing more. Yn grins, victorious, and turns her attention back to Candy Crush, unaware of how drastically her life is about to change.

News Reporter (on TV):
“And now, here are the first exclusive photos of the infamous Crime Lord, Kim Taehyung, captured moments after his arrival. Only on our channel…”

The screen flashes with a series of photographs ... grainy yet powerful.

A tall man in a perfectly tailored black suit, walking down the private jet stairs with a chilling calmness. Broad shoulders. Dark hair swept carelessly yet flawlessly. His aura screams danger, a predator who doesn’t need to snarl to be feared. Armed men flank him like shadows, yet it’s clear he’s the one commanding the storm.

Yn’s eyes flick up just for a second.

And freeze.

The phone slips slightly in her hand as her breath hitches without warning. The chaotic noise of the news fades in the background, replaced by the deafening thud of her own heartbeat.

She can’t look away.

There’s something about him ...something magnetic, suffocating, terrifying… and yet her eyes linger on the screen as if pulled by an invisible force.

Yn’s POV.......

What… what is this feeling?

How can someone look like that? So dangerously beautiful like sin carved into perfection. My breath catches in my throat, and for a moment, I forget how to blink. His presence radiates through the screen...power, darkness, authority and something inside me stirs… something I can’t even name.

I’ve never felt this before. Not even for my so-called 'celebrity crushes.' This is different. This feels… wrong.

My chest flutters, my stomach twists, and yet my mind screams one word, over and over, drowning every reckless thought that dares to bloom inside me.

Danger.

He is danger.

And yet… why can’t I look away?

A/N's POV.......

“This business will thrive in the heart of the bustling market… right under their noses,” Taehyung’s deep voice reverberates through Vikram’s lavish office, calm yet laced with quiet menace. While the police waste their time raiding abandoned warehouses and remote fields, we’ll move the product through the sewers — undetected, unstoppable. A normal factory on the surface. An empire below it.”

Vikram swallows hard, his awe barely concealing his fear. “Y-Yes, Lord… brilliant strategy.”

Taehyung exhales a thin stream of smoke, eyes fixed on the city skyline beyond the window. I’ll inspect the market myself. You’ll accompany me.”

The words hit Vikram like a blow. His brows knit, panic flickering in his gaze. “But, Lord… won’t it be… dangerous? You’re infamous across the world. People would—”

The sound of Taehyung’s boots against the marble floor cuts through the air as he turns, gaze cold and predatory.

“Are you questioning my decision?” His tone is soft… almost too soft. The kind of softness that promises violence.

Vikram’s throat goes dry. “N-No, Lord, I meant—”

“I don’t give a fuck what you meant.” Taehyung steps closer, towering over him, the weight of his presence suffocating. “We’re going to the market. In disguise. Prepare your men.”

Vikram nods rapidly, head bowed low, silently vowing not to utter another unnecessary word.

Y/N's POV......

The market bustles with life... vendors shouting prices, children crying for candies, women bargaining like warriors in battle. Amidst all the chaos, I stand clutching my four-year-old nephew, Soham, who wriggles in my arms like a slippery fish. My elder sister, Disha, has gone to buy ice creams, leaving me to manage this tiny tornado alone.

“Masi! Masi!” Soham tugs at my dupatta, eyes sparkling as he points toward a roadside stall. “Buy me that ball, please!”

Those big, puppy eyes could melt glaciers. I sigh dramatically but can’t resist.

“Fine, come on,” I mutter, walking him to the stall.

“Bhaiya, what’s the cost of this ball?” I ask, picking it up.

“Three hundred rupees, madam,” the vendor replies flatly.

I gasp as if he’s slapped me. “Three hundred?! Are there diamonds inside this ball? Bhaiya, don’t joke. Quote the real price.”

The man scratches his head. “Okay… two-eighty.”

“Hundred,” I shoot back instantly.

“Two-fifty, final,” he says, rolling his eyes.

“Okay, okay,” I huff, “neither yours nor mine...one-fifty, and I’ll take it. Otherwise, bye.”

The vendor sighs, defeated. “Fine, madam.”

Soham squeals in delight, jumping up and down as I hand him the ball. The whole bargaining match is like a live cartoon for him, and he clutches the toy as if it’s treasure.

Taehyung’s POV......

Dressed like an ordinary man, I blend into the chaos of the Indian market...a plain shirt, sunglasses hiding my identity. No one here knows they are standing inches away from the Devil himself. The air reeks of spices and sweat, vendors shouting, children laughing, coins clinking. Perfect chaos. Perfect cover.

My eyes sweep over every corner, memorizing routes, exits, weak points. This place will serve my business well. They won’t even realize what’s happening beneath their noses until it’s too late.

I’m half-listening to Vikram muttering about supplies and local dealers when something soft bounces against my foot. I pause. A worn-out red ball stops at my boot, and before I can look up, I hear it.

A voice.

Soft. Sweet. Melodious.

“Umm… excuse me, gentleman. I’m sorry about that, but… can I please take the ball back?”

Yn’s POV.......

Didi has just returned with ice creams, and as soon as Soham spots them, he squeals in excitement and throws his ball without a second thought. The little tornado tries to run after it, but I catch him by the arm.

“I’ll get it,” I sigh and walk toward where the ball rolled.

It’s at the feet of a man. His back is to me... broad shoulders, tall frame, simple clothes, but something about the way he stands feels… intimidating. Still, I muster up a polite smile.

“Umm… excuse me, gentleman,” I say softly, hoping he hears me over the market’s noise. “I’m sorry about that, but… can I please take the ball back?”

Taehyung’s POV.......

The moment her voice hits my ears, I freeze and I turn around.

And then—

Holy. Fuck.

For the first time in years, I feel a heartbeat. Loud. Violent. Echoing in my ears, drowning out the chaos of the market. My world falls silent except for her.

Is she even real?

Long curly hair sways gently in the breeze, almond-shaped black eyes wide with innocence. Luscious pink lips, soft chubby cheeks, skin like warm honey kissed by sunlight. And that figure ...delicate yet captivating.

She’s beautiful. Too beautiful.

And for the first time, the Devil feels something he doesn’t understand.

Taehyung’s POV......

I don’t even realize how long I’ve been staring. Her lips are moving...thanking me, maybe? But I can’t hear a single word. All I can hear is the pounding in my chest, loud and unfamiliar.

The way her brows knit together tells me she’s uncomfortable under my gaze, yet I can’t look away. She snatches the ball from my hand and rushes off, vanishing into the crowd before I can even say a word.

My jaw tightens. A strange sensation coils in my chest... irritation and something far more dangerous.

Yn’s POV......

What was wrong with that guy? He just… stood there, staring. No blink. No smile. Just staring, like some kind of creep.

“Ugh,” I mutter under my breath, clutching the ball and hurrying back to Didi and Soham. “These men think they’re something special. Someone should really hit them with a jutti.”

I shake off the weird encounter, not knowing why my heart is beating a little faster than usual. It’s probably just annoyance. Right?

A/N's POV......

But little did she know the Devil himself had just set his eyes on her and she had unknowingly committed the gravest mistake of her life…

Making his dead heart beat again.
