Somewhere in Seoul, South Korea.....
A grand mansion rises in the heart of a dense, dark-green forest, hidden behind towering, impenetrable walls. Its architecture is breathtaking and majestic yet unsettling, like something pulled from a forbidden dream.
No one dares approach.
Whispers of its existence drift through the city, carried in hushed voices and fearful glances. Few have seen the mansion with their own eyes. None dare cross its gates.
Because everyone knows who lives there.
The Devil himself.
And no one wishes to tempt fate by stepping into his beautiful, dangerous den.
But beauty on the outside does not always mirror what lies within.
Inside the mansion, darkness reigns. Blackened walls swallow the light, hallways stretch long and silent, and the air carries an unshakable chill. The dรฉcor is opulent yet unsettling. Luxury is twisted into something cruel, designed to suffocate rather than comfort.
One look inside is enough to know:
This is not a home.
This is the Devilโs palace.
But the most dangerous part of the mansion lies below.
The basement.
A place no soul dares to enter not even in their worst nightmares. Whispers claim it is more terrifying than the darkest myths of hell itself. Down there, screams are swallowed by the walls, and secrets are buried so deep theyโre never meant to be uncovered.
Deep in the mansionโs basement, rows of torture cells line the cold stone walls. The stench of blood and damp iron hangs heavy in the air.
In one of those cells, a man dangles from rusted chains, wrists torn raw where the metal bites into his flesh. Each pull feels like hundreds of ants gnawing at his skin. His body trembles violently, legs swinging helplessly in midair, bound to a weight of nearly twenty kilograms.
His screams echo off the walls...ragged, broken, and filled with agony. But the pain isnโt just from the chains. Itโs the slow, merciless torment designed to break him from the inside out.
Surrounding him, armed men watch in silence, faces carved from stone. Not a shred of pity softens their eyes...only obedience to the Devil who commands them.
In the same room, a man sits calmly in a leather chair, a thin trail of smoke curling lazily from the cigarette between his fingers. His expression is blank, cold and unreadable yet his eyes glint with quiet satisfaction as they follow every scream, every twitch of agony from the man hanging in chains.
He doesnโt flinch or blink because this is routine for him.
And this manโthis silent ruler of painโis none other than Kim Taehyung.
After a moment, Taehyung lifts a hand...a simple gesture.
Immediately, his men move. The tortured man is lowered from the chains, his body limp and trembling. They drag him to a chair in the center of the cell and bind his wrists tightly to the armrests, his ankles lashed to the chairโs legs. He can barely hold his head up, chest heaving in shallow, frantic breaths.
Taehyung rises slowly from his seat, the sound of his footsteps eerily measured as he approaches. Each step echoes in the hollow room like the tolling of a death knell. With every movement closer, the manโs heartbeat pounds louder in his ears, panic clawing through his chest. He thrashes against the restraints, desperate and futile.
Taehyung stops in front of him. His tall frame casts a suffocating shadow, blanketing the man like a sheet of death.
Leaning forward, Taehyung grips his hair in one rough fist, yanking his head back until a strangled cry escapes the prisonerโs throat. He studies the manโs bloodied face with his calm, calculating eyes which glint with something sharp and cruel.
A slow, almost imperceptible smirk curves his lips.
When he finally speaks, his voice is low and cold, each word dripping with quiet danger. โSo,โTaehyung murmurs, a low chuckle escaping his lips, โyouโre the spy my enemy sent.โ
The laugh dies abruptly. Without warning, he presses the burning tip of his cigarette against the manโs eye.
A piercing scream tears through the basement. The stench of scorched flesh fills the air, but the man can do nothing because of being bound tightly to the chair, trembling and helpless.
Taehyungโs voice drops into a chilling growl, suddenly rising into a roar.
โYou think youโor your dickless bossโcan make a fool of me? Me? The Kim Taehyung?โ
The man flinches violently, shaking like a leaf, words tumbling from his cracked lips.
โIโIโm s-s-sorryโฆ p-pleaseโฆ please forgive meโฆ Iโll l-leave the countryโฆ I swear, Iโll never come backโฆ p-please, Lordโฆ j-just let me goโฆโ
Silence.
Taehyung doesnโt respond. He only stares, his eyes emotionless, unblinking. The weight of his gaze alone is enough to crush the manโs final shred of hope. How could he ever believe Taehyung would let him go?
Taehyungโs lips curl into the faintest ghost of a smirk. When he finally speaks, his voice is calm.
โWhat were you thinking,โ Taehyung drawls, voice dripping with mock curiosity, โcoming into my territory to spy on me? Is there even a brain inside that useless skull of yours?โ
The man sobs harder, the sound raw and pitiful, but Taehyungโs next words make the cries abruptly die in his throat.
โI should check for myself, shouldnโt I?โ
Taehyung glances at one of his men. No words are needed. Instantly, the guard steps forward and sets down a heavy drilling machine.
Without hesitation, Taehyung lifts the weapon one-handed, as if it weighs nothing. The whirring starts, sharp and metallic, drowning out the manโs frantic pleas.
He doesnโt stop or care.
With a blank expression, Taehyung drives the drill into the manโs forehead. The scream that follows is inhuman...a sound that echoes against the cold stone walls, piercing and agonized. Blood sprays across the room, splattering Taehyungโs face, his clothes, the floor beneath them but he doesnโt flinch or blink.
The drill hums until the screaming stops. Slowly, Taehyung withdraws it, tossing the bloodied machine aside with casual disgust.
โWorthless cunt,โ he mutters, wiping a streak of red from his cheek with the back of his hand.
Without another glance, he strides out of the basement, leaving his men to clean the carnage. His steps lead him straight to the master bedroom, then into the bathroomโs silence.
The shower roars to life, icy water cascading over him, washing away the blood but not the memory. He braces one hand against the tiled wall, shoulders rising and falling with slow, steady breaths.
A humorless chuckle escapes him.
โForgiveness,โ he murmurs, voice low and bitter, โis for hearts. But this devil plays with his brain.โ
Somewhere in Mumbai, India......
Inside a cozy twoโstorey house, warm light spills from the kitchen. A young woman rushes from counter to counter, her movements quick and purposeful. She wipes the surface clean, sets ingredients neatly in place, and pulls open the oven.
A wave of sweet, buttery aroma fills the air as she lifts out a tray of freshly baked cupcakes. Steam curls upward, frosting her face with warmth. She sets the tray down carefully and leans in, inspecting each one to see if theyโve baked perfectly.
Her long, curly hair falls forward, hiding her face as she bends over the counter. With practiced hands, she begins to swirl soft cream in delicate patterns, layering different flavors onto the cupcakes.
Beside the cupcakes lies an open textbook. She glances at it between swirls of cream, muttering to herself as she decorates.
โThe first battle of Panipat was fought between the Mughal forces and the Lodi Empireโฆ April 21st, 1526โฆ The second battle of Panipat was fought inโฆ fought inโugh!โ
A frustrated groan escapes her as she drops the piping bag for a moment. โWhy did they even fight in the first place? Couldnโt they just live peacefully? Be friends, sign some peace treaties or something? I hate memorizing these stupid dates!โ she complains to no one in particular, as if the kitchen walls are listening.
Before she can rant further, an elderly female voice calls from behind. โYn!โ
She spins around, her long curly hair flipping back to reveal her face... radiant and fresh, like a blooming lotus.
Her mother steps into the kitchen, hands on her hips, and sighs dramatically. โHey Bhagwaan! Look at this girl! You have college in a while, a test to give, and here you areโฆ talking to thin air! At least act like a grown-up now, Yn!โ
Yn pouts, muttering under her breath as she returns to her cupcakes.
โIf Iโm so grown up, then let me go to the club with my friendsโฆโ
โWhat did you just say?โ her mother snaps instantly, narrowing her eyes in warning.
Yn gulps, shaking her head frantically. โN-Nothing, Ma.โ
Her mother studies her for a moment, then sighs again and says, โOkay, whatever. Now go and get ready. You have college today and a class test in History, too.โ
Yn freezes midโstep, panic flashing in her eyes. โWait... History test?!โ
She gasps, clutching her head. โOh no, Iโm so late!โ
Her mother raises an eyebrow, unimpressed, while Yn rushes around the kitchen like a tornado.
โBut Maa, the cupcakes arenโt done yet! What do I do?โ she whines, pacing frantically between the counter and the oven.
โIโll finish them,โ her mother says, shaking her head at her daughterโs dramatics. โI know you got an order for them. Just go and focus on your exam.โ
Yn throws her arms around her mother, hugging her tightly. โYouโre the best! Thank you, thank you, thank you!โ
Before her mother can respond, Yn bolts upstairs, grabs her history book, and dashes into the bathroom. After a quick shower, she folds her hands for her morning prayer, whispering softly before changing into her college uniform.
Minutes later, sheโs sprinting out of the house, waving goodbye. โBye, Maa!โ
โCareful on the road!โ her mother yells after her, shaking her head fondly.
Yn hails a cab and soon arrives at her college gates. Spotting her friends, she jogs toward them, clutching her bag and book.
โI wish I were you, Yn,โ Naina says dreamily as soon as Yn approaches. โA topper, perfect grades, perfect everythingโฆโ
Yn groans, rolling her eyes at her friendโs theatrics. โStop dreaming and letโs go, or weโll be late for the test. I do not want to fail!โ
She grabs Nainaโs wrist and pulls her toward the exam hall, both of them laughing as they run.
After a long day at college, Yn finally steps out of the gates, stretching her arms. The cloudy sky above feels calm, a soft breeze brushing against her face. Instead of booking a cab, she decides to walk home, enjoying the cool weather.
Halfway through the quiet street, a faint whimper catches her attention. Yn stops, glancing toward the sound, and spots a tiny injured puppy curled up near a lamp post. Its fur is dirty, one paw smeared with blood.
Her heart immediately softens.
โOh noโฆ you poor thing,โ she whispers, kneeling beside it. Carefully, she takes out her handkerchief and wraps it gently around the puppyโs wounded paw, trying not to hurt it. The puppy whines but doesnโt resist, almost sensing her kindness.
โShhhโฆ itโs okay,โ she coos softly. Reaching into her bag, she pulls out a packet of biscuits and breaks them into tiny pieces, feeding the puppy with tender hands.
โLove is given by heartโฆ and I guess mine is foolish enough to care for everyone.โshe mutters under her breath, glancing at the passersby who ignored the animal.
The puppyโs tail wags weakly, and Yn smiles faintly, patting its small head before standing up to continue her walk home.
